April\u2019s &#8220;core&#8221; consumer price index, which strips out the more volatile costs of food and gas prices, rose 5.5% over the last year, in line with economist expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report could add to expectations that the Fed will pause its rate-hiking campaign at its next meeting in June. Analysts at JPMorgan said Wednesday they expect the market to refocus on &#8220;recent Fedspeak which remains hawkish despite the Fed\u2019s data dependent approach.&#8221; On Wednesday,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/new-york-feds-williams-inflation-remains-too-high-162038473.html\">New York Fed President John Williams noted<\/a>&nbsp;that inflation remains &#8220;too high.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\">\nhttps:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/6180194\/embed?auto=1\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Also on Tuesday, President Joe Biden met with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and other top congressional leaders for a high-stakes talk on the nation\u2019s debt limit. The conversation yielded&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/white-house-debt-ceiling-talks-kick-off-biden-mccarthy-203605747.html\">little apparent progress,<\/a>&nbsp;but both sides are scheduled to meet again on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Government bonds were lower. The yield on the 10-year yield traded down to 3.44%, compared to the two-year note yields fell to 3.93%. (<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/TWLO?p=TWLO&amp;.tsrc=fin-srch\">TWLO<\/a>) shares tumbled more than 16% following the software company issuing a forecast for sales of $980 million to $990 million in its fiscal second quarter, below analysts\u2019 forecasts of $1.05 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shares of Rivian Automotive, Inc.
